The last day I didn't have a post was February 23, 2014 (five years and seventeen days ago).
But today is the last post of The Toe Cleavage Blog. And, no, this isn't an early April Fool's joke.
There's various reasons that I'm ending the blog but the main one is that for the last year or two, it's felt more like a chore than the fun I used to have. Every day searching for new pictures, curating them and posting them takes time, lots of it, and after nine plus years I think I just want to spend my time doing other things.
Thanks go out as always to the chief, who started the original toe cleavage blog way back in June 2007 and ran it until December 2009.
More thanks to regular commenters and contributors like EB, ~ZERO, sedds, Fangflyer, legfeet_lover1, nemesis1, Joki, Kevin Black, BW, saboti, jocko, ~HH and even Kristen Bell fan (plus whoever I missed) and to all the non-regular 'Anonymous' commenters. Even more thanks to anyone who contributed financially - you probably kept the blog going for an extra two or three years.

The blog will stay up for the foreseeable future for new people to peruse and for the veterans to go back to. (If you need a repost of any past sets, feel free to e-mail me.)
I do hope someone takes up the mantle of the Toe Cleavage Blog (as I did after chief) and if anyone needs help starting a new one, please reach out to me.

As my final post, please enjoy this brand new photoshoot of my wife. I originally took these for my annual blog fundraiser, but when I decided I'd be pulling the plug, I didn't feel it would be right to ask people to pay, knowing the blog was ending soon.

A very sad day for the TC followers of your quality site. I always looked forward to seeing your post every morning. I hope one of your followers mentioned will take up the mantle for your great contribution to the TC world. There are lots of other sites that attempt to present the subject of high heel pumps, but none have come close to your quality and style. Thanks for your past efforts and enjoy your retirement. P.S. I fully understand the not enjoying it as it's a chore thing, so perhaps you could sit back fora rest and then do a weekend round up similar to the last weeks postings instead of burning yourself out on a daily basis - yes, that's a selfish plea for you to carry on in a reduced manner. We all need our TC fix from you !

You did it much better, and way more consistently. Knowing first-hand how much work it was, I was always amazed by your longevity. And having your wife's support (and wonderful involvement) was awesome. She is spectacular. You did an awesome job for these many years. I'll try to reach you directly by email as well at some point.

ReplyDeleteA shocking day indeed. So sad that it took a day or two for reality to sink in. Another follower from the original blog. Infrequent Anonymous commenter but daily visitor. I too would come here, usually as part of my morning ritual, and the days I missed, I knew I’d have a doubly great day the next day.

With LOTS of gratitude to Number2 for all his effort in finding and sharing such beautiful material over the years, as well as despair to see that suddenly stop, I would like to offer a suggestion. Would it be possible to add a "random gallery" button to the website, which would randomly take us to one of the 3063 existing posts, thus bringing a little relief to our tortured souls? Thanks in advance for considering this suggestion!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gutted. This is without doubt the best site of its sort on the internet and you have brought us all great joy over the years. I completely understand needing to move on when a labour of love turns into work, when I moderated a similar shoe picture website but it just became too time consuming. Best of luck to you and hope you achieve all you want to with your extra time, and thanks again for all the effort you put in giving us all such wonderful sights to peruse.
ReplyDeleteI think the "random button" or something similar would be a great idea to keep the blog going with hopefully very little effort on your part. ( easy for me to say) I'm sure we would all be happy to look at the old posts as well as any future posts from you or any future contributor. If there is no easy way to do this idea then I'm sure we will all have to be happy with being able to sort thru the pictures ourselves. Thanks again for all of your efforts number#2 we miss you.

I just wanted to say I really miss your blog and am still having TC blog withdrawal even after a month has gone by. Just checked in to see how things are going... and was saddened to see that the blog has ended. Thanks for all the years of TC, #2. I have to admit that I had moved on years ago to getting my TC fixes on Instagram, but always kept this blog on my radar. Thanks for the memories!
